How the Irish passport photo process works
An Irish passport photo is printed at 35×45 mm (up to 38×50 mm) on a plain light-grey or cream background, with your head from chin to top of hair measuring about 34.5 mm — roughly 55% of the photo. For Passport Online, the issuing authority instead wants a digital image of at least 715×951 px, in JPEG, under 9 MB, captured as a true unedited likeness with no software enhancement. The photo is taken to spec and submitted with your application to the Ireland passport authority. Snapfora crops and sizes the image locally and flags head height and tilt so you fix any problem before you submit, rather than after a rejection.
