What we do
Snapfora is an online ID-photo tool: upload a selfie, and it removes the background, crops and aligns to your target country's spec, runs a compliance self-check, and lays out a print sheet. It covers passport, visa and ID specs for the US, China, the Schengen Area, the UK, Canada, Japan and more, with new ones added over time.
Why it's free
Existing ID-photo sites either charge $7–17 a shot or push you to pay by watermarking and limiting resolution. We think cropping and swapping a background should simply be free. We don't make money selling ID photos — if you also want a polished professional headshot afterwards, we recommend an AI headshot service and earn a commission. That's the whole model.
Why we keep it on-device
An ID photo is facial biometric data — among the most sensitive personal data there is. Sending it to the cloud means trusting an invisible server. We chose to run all the computation inside your browser instead. That's not just more private; it's a reassurance cloud competitors can't match by design.
The limits we're honest about
We will never promise "guaranteed acceptance." The final call belongs to the issuing authority, and no online tool can replace the review at the counter. What we can do is build to the published official spec, link the source, and flag every key requirement for you to verify. Being clear about what we can and can't do is how we respect you.
